Woman Reports Sexual Assault, Robbery in West Seattle

Police are investigating a sexual assault and robbery in a West Seattle park.

Shortly before midnight on january 4th, a woman was waiting for a bus in front of a business at 15 Av Sw and Sw Roxbury St in White Center when a "Native American male approximately 5'8 feet tall and wearing a gray sweater, blue jeans, and black/gray shoes" approached her and asked for a cigarette. The man and the woman started chatting and went for a walk.

As the man and woman walked towards Westcrest Park, the man pointed to a home with a chain link fence and a pitbull in the yard, and told the woman it was his house.

When the man and woman arrived at the park, a second man—who was wearing a neck warmer over his face—joined them as they sat on swings and drank beer. The woman told police she became uncomfortable when one of the men tried to kiss her, and tried to leave. The man wearing the face covering chased her down, dragged her back to the swing set, "took all her clothes off and held her down on the ground by the neck and slapped her in the face while he sexually assaulted her," the report says.

Afterward, the men told the woman to get dressed and forced her to accompany them to a friend's house. The report says the men told her "they would lock her in the basement and kill her if she talked". When the group got to the friend's house, the woman was able to flee and get to a neighbor's house, who called 911.

The woman told police that in addition to the sexual assault, the men stole $60 from her. Officers found several beer cans in Westcrest Park which were taken into evidence.
