Massive Police Response On Capitol Hill

According to a Seattlecrime.com tipster, there are about 20-25 police officers and sheriffs deputies at Bellevue and Pine with guns drawn. A man is lying face down on the pavement, crying.

Our source says he doesn't see any nearby vehicles resembling the white Datsun police released photos of earlier today, but we'll have more details in a few moments.

Our witness says he saw 2 or 3 people arrested at the scene.

An officer at the scene described the incident as "a bust thing."

Update: Another officer at the scene says police were there for a couple of guys causing trouble at a bus stop. No indications that this had anything to do with Halloween shooting. Nevertheless, that's a pretty big police response for just a couple of guys.

Update x2: A Capitol Hill Seattle commenter has posted their eyewitness account of the incident:

I walked by this before the police got there, and watched until the police got there (and then it got boring). It was just 2 drunk bum-ish looking guys who were being arrested by two transit police officers at the bus shelter (maybe they got kicked off a bus?). However they were resisting arrest and being aggressive, which I think is what led to the large police response.

4 or 5 police cars then arrived all at once and got the 2nd drunk guy on the ground. 1 or 2 of the arresting officers did have guns on him. He was somewhat non-cooperative - they had to yell at him to loosen up so they could get his hands behind his back to cuff him - and a few minutes later he started yelling/crying as if in pain, or maybe just a drunken stupor.

You Can Do Better Than "Seattlecrime.com Tipster"
Glad you're covering these stories. Everyone's on edge and we need people watching. And I know you're still new here. But there needs to be a better name for people sending you tips. MacGruffs? Crimeans? Junior Crime-fighters? Seattlecrime Squealers? I'm not saying I have the answer, maybe you should have a contest.

Please update this story, what really happened here?
I was passing Broadway heading East on East Denny, and I saw down the road on Broadway in Front of Seattle Central a whole mass of police cars. I want to know why, what caused all these policemen to come out? I would like more details on this.

Thank you!

Overkill
Great, 25 cops needed to subdue a single drunk man. Why not send 15 of those cops to Greenwood before it burns down completely?
